About Me
I graduated from Cornell University—just a few miles north of my hometown of Binghamton, New York—in the spring of 2020 with my Bachelor's in Religious Studies and an education minor.
During college and in the years since, I have worked both remotely and in-person with students ranging from Pre-K to 8th grade. In this, I have seen many roles: tutor, coach, enrichment educator, after-school and summer program coordinator, long and short-term substitute teacher. Each a unique part of my intellectual (and emotional!) tapestry.
I love to be challenged and thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
My five main goals as an educator are to:
Consistently reflect on my teaching practice, before, during, and after my time in the classroom.
Develop strong relationships with my students and provide support in my role as teacher.
Yield tangible student growth in academics and classroom behavior.
Strive to model humility, accountability, patience, and responsibility, without exception.
Foster strong community and engage deeply in the larger school culture.
Last, though not least, my favorite part about teaching is the privilege to witness my students support, accept, and celebrate both themselves and one another.
"Whoever teaches learns in the act of teaching, and whoever learns teaches in the act of learning."
Paulo Freire
